I Am Stepping Down

Dear Community,
We have built friendships, shared so many experiences, and worked through all types of issues together. There is no easy way to say this. On January 1st, I will be stepping down as “TheWinPhan”.

I am NOT moving to another OS, in fact quite the opposite. I am leaving the internet all together. My wife and son will continue to utilize and benefit from the incredible Microsoft platform.
I am honored to have been able to serve the Windows Phone and WinPhan community in the capacity I did. My journey in life though, has reached a crossroads where a new path must be taken. This path deserves all my attention, I hope you all are understanding.

I am a caregiver.

While I can’t imagine not having been TheWinPhan, I also can’t imagine not offering my full attention to what I consider to be my true calling in this world. Trying to balance the two has become overwhelmingly difficult.

I ask that you continue to support my courageous wife _BipolarManiac and her efforts to bring awareness to Bipolar Disorder. My son @thewinphanjr is on Instagram, follow what he does, I believe he’s the future face of Microsoft.

I am eternally grateful for everything you all have given to me, I genuinely feel like one of the luckiest people to have experienced so much with all of you. My greatest hope its that WinPhan continues to exist as one of the dominant Windows Phone communities.

I am and will always be a proud #WinPhan

  1. Sean, I feel so honored to have spent some time with you in this amazing community. You truly have such an incredible enthusiasm and optimism for the Windows Phone platform. I’m proud to have had you join us on some of our greatest podcast episodes.
I wish you the very best for you and your family. You are a great human being, and your family deserves you far more than the community that you had such an important part in growing.
Best of luck, and God bless!!

  2. Hey Sean,

None of us want to see you go, but understand that you need to be able to give 100% to whatever it is you feel called to do.

I, for one, respect that. If you’re giving it your all, you’ll become a life-changing caregiver.

As far as what you’ve done for us, your energy and drive alone has risen the Windows Phone community far above what would have been possible without you. You leave a legacy of Windows Phone enthusiasts everywhere across the world that have banded together due to the WinPhan community.

I want to thank you for bringing life, vitality, and delight to the Microsoft community as a whole. Redmond’s seen what you’ve done, the fanbase has seen what you’ve done, and even fans of competing products know who you are. That’s how much of an impact you’ve made!

    I wish you blessed success.
