Nokia is doing a lot to bring more options to the lower end market, and the Lumia 625, just announced for Australia fills another niche in the market. It looks to be targeted at a mid price point with the phone coming in Telstra, and Optus Business for a recommended retail price of $399AU. The device should be widely available on the 23rd of August, and on Virgin Mobile early September.
Specs wise the phone is a bit of an oddity, with a 4.7 inch screen,
Nokia Australia’s managing director, Steve Lewis, said: “The Nokia Lumia 625 has our largest ever smartphone screen with 4G internet access and our latest apps. It’s a handset with big personality, but happily for consumers a much smaller price tag. Our focus remains on offering choice and value for customers, by continuing to deliver new developments and experiences across our smartphone range, at every price point. This is a key point of difference for us.”

It’s certainly a change up from Nokia, with a different combination of features that will make the phone stand out while still keeping its Lumia styling. The phone will ship with the latest version of Windows Phone 8, and the Nokia Amber update installed. A lot of the features that were announced with the Nokia Lumia 925 will be included in the 625.
