Good news today as Microsoft announced firm availability of the Surface Pro on it’s Surface Blog. It has been a long wait for some, with hints in February that MS would expand availability, alas no news has been forthcoming
Many people have left comments here on our blog asking about Surface Pro availability in other countries beyond the U.S. and Canada. We are happy to be able to tell you that Surface Pro will be heading to Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom in the coming months. We will follow-up with another blog post with more details
Well that has all changed now, and you can start counting down, although pre orders for the new countries are not available yet. While I’m focusing on Surface Pro, there are still regions that do not have access to the Surface RT, but the roll out is now on in earnest it seems.

Surface RT will launch in Malaysia on April 25th, in Mexico by the end of May and in Korea and Thailand in June
Surface Pro will launch before the end of May in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Surface Pro will launch in Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, and Thailand before the end of June.Surface Pro is currently available in the U.S., Canada, and China
You will notice the use of the phrase “before the end of” so there is still quite window of time, where you will not be quite sure wen you can pick one up [Pro r RT], or which resellers the devices will be available from in your region. In regions where there are not brick and mortar Microsoft stores look to the devices becoming available at your local online store.
