While this post is about Startscreens, I’d be remiss if I didn’t take this opportunity to thank all of you for such a warm welcome home. Secondly, I really want to thank both David Kimball and Peter Murphy for their efforts to keep WinPhan chugging along. It takes more time and commitment than you might realize, to make #WinPhan effective and worth every second. Thank you #WinPhan community for all that you do. And now, the StartScreen…
You all know me, I like to focus on the positive, the one aspect we all can control in our world…keeping a simple perspective on what is. So what is “it”, that keeps so many continuing to explore their Windows Phone? We all have different personal reasons, however, I haven’t met a Windows Phone owner who didn’t love the StartScreen.
We’ve all learned together that features come and features go. Some are ones we adopt as the backbones in our admiration of Windows Phone, others might seem less relevant, and so they disappear without much of a fuss.
And while many would argue “Hubs” were the backbone of Windows Phone, I’m comfortable in the thought that maybe after all this time…after all these features that have come and gone, through all the hardware and firmware changes, for all the “Fear Undue”, with the good, and with the bad…the truly personalized uniqueness and backbone of Windows Phone has always and will always be The StartScreen. It is that one thing, that has stood the test of time and has only got better in maturation. I want to work hard on continuing to drive that home.
Our site winphan.net as many of you know, was created to house far more than just Windows Phone news. There are some great sites already doing that. My vision for WinPhan, has always been and will always be to highlight all of you…and the amazing/unique skill sets each one of you have shared with me in one fashion or another.
Today, I’m really excited to be unveiling one of the many features I have planned, to highlight Windows Phone and the awesome people who use them! By visiting to our #WinPhan Community StartScreen Gallery, you can see some of the creative, beautiful, and inspiring designs that other Windows Phone owners have. Share it, connect with that person on Twitter, or download it…its up to you.
Come on over for a visit, we’d love to see you. Find some positivity, find some inspiration, find and share your love for Windows Phone again.
Want to participate and get your StartScreen up where everyone can admire it? I thought you’d never ask! I’ll be adding to the collection daily so just follow one of these 4 options:
- Jump on Twitter and tweet your image to me with the hashtag #StartScreen.
- Only On Facebook? That’s ok too! Head over to our WinPhan Page and share your pic with us there.
- Not on Facebook either? No worries, you can tag me in a pic and use #StartScreen on our Instagram WinPhan account.
- What, not there either? Go ahead and email me a copy to: email@example.com
I want to have the largest collection of StartScreens of ANY site…OK, at least a close 2nd only to Microsoft of course. I’m going to need your help!
